Self Portrait

Have you guys met fellow Portland Blogger Chelsey, aka The Paper Mama?  She’s one of those creative types that just makes me shake my head in wonder, I mean, check out her videos on Vine – amazing!  I have no idea how she even does that!

Right now she is doing a Self Portrait Challenge on her blog with a chance to win an Instax Mini 8 camera which I know nothing about but it’s certainly cute!

Like Chelsey describes in her post, I don’t typically like candid pictures of myself either.  If I do post a photo of myself it’s usually a self-portrait on Instagram as a check-in with my Red Faced Runners group, and it’s pretty much a guarantee that the picture posted was take #22, ha!

With each one you take you learn a little more about the right angle and which side is your “good side”, and can we just throw out a huge thanks for Instagram filters!  Am I right?

So, here’s my self-portrait, along with a few “currently” things about myself:

Currently I am… debating that picture, ha!  Texted this one to Mr. Won’t Run one day to say good morning.  Can you tell I’m not a morning person?  And no, that’s not a weird growth on my neck, there’s something on my iPhone camera lens.  Do you think it’s a cop-out when people post silly pictures of themselves?  Is it like not being able to take a compliment?  Too worried someone will think you look funny so you might as well put funny out there to begin with so it’s on your own terms?

Obsessing over… the Nick and Jess KISS!!!  Still obsessed almost two weeks later.

Working on… this little blog. I really need to treat it like a second job with set hours but once I get home from the day job, figure out dinner, and sit down to watch a show (because we’re classy and eat dinner on the couch), I just feel done for the day. It’s frustrating because I’m constantly composing blog posts in my head and then think I’ll get to it tomorrow. And suddenly “tomorrow” is two weeks later and it seems irrelevant.

Thinking about… my list of 35 Things which I am way behind on and only have about six months left to finish.  I keep thinking if I ignore it someone else will do it for me.

Anticipating… my first blog conference this weekend!  The gals from Six Sisters Stuff are putting on the Build Your Blog Conference in Salt Lake City and I’m so excited to meet some people I know online!  To make it even better, two of my favorite bloggers are going to be there and if I get a pic with them it’s going on my fridge for forever!  And according to these tweets they can’t wait to meet me either.  Or maybe they’re just being polite.  Whatever, I’ll take it!

Listening to… (and watching) the latest episode of Arrow on the DVR.  The Mr was around one night when it came on and after the first minute he asked “Is this just a show of him working out with no shirt?” and I said “Yeah, isn’t it great?”

Eating/Drinking… had a chicken quesadilla with some buffalo sauce and blue cheese dressing for dinner and I’m working my way through 24oz of water.  I seriously need to up my intake!

Wishing… this psoas muscle thing would finish working itself out so I can get back to running, it’s been over two months and I’m about to lose my mind.

That was fun, now go check out her blog and join in the self-portrait challenge with me!
