We’ve crossed another one off our list of places to try – Double Dragon!
It’s a cute little place located in SE Portland on Division St and was very easy to find. If you know where Apex or Los Gorditos is, then you know where Double Dragon is.
Check out the fun sriracha bottle lighting, and that gorgeous bar!
I hear they have a pretty killer happy hour, and serve a variety of drinks, everything from Rum Horchatas to classics like Negroni, Sazerac, and Old Fashioned to signature cocktails like Burnt Reynolds, Gold Soundz, and Border Patrol.
The day we went, Mr. Won’t Run enjoyed the Stay Classy Bangkok house cocktail – house made Thai iced tea syrup added to gin and blended with fresh lemon juice and angostura bitters. He really liked it!
As usual, we ordered a ton of food because it all looked so good! Of course we had to try the Banh Mi sandwiches. They are described as NON-TRADITIONAL, and are dressed with pickled carrot and daikon, aioli, and jalapeno.
I got the Pulled Pork Banh Mi:
Mr. Won’t Run got the Pork Belly Banh Mi:
We also got the Roasted Carrot Soup:
Yum. Yum. Yum.
Had to try the Pulled Pork + Kimchi’d Collard Greens Rice Bowl:
And the Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup (Pho):
They also make their own curried potato chips which were delicious and addictive:
And these Toasted Coconut Cookies… oh. my.
I loooooove coconut, so I reluctantly shared with Mr. Won’t Run.
That’s what a good wife does, right? Although, you could say that if he was a good husband he would have let me have it all, right?
We sat inside and had this view of their cute setup out front with patio lights and bunting(!!):
It was a little too chilly the day we went to sit outside, but I can totally imagine it to be the perfect setting for good food and good drinks with good friends on a warm Summer evening. The inside is warm and inviting too.
We would both highly recommend this place!
They just celebrated their 2 Year Anniversary last Friday, and their offerings have really grown and rounded out since they first opened. If it’s been a while since you’ve been, you should definitely check out what’s new.
Open Tuesday through Sunday, 11:30am – Midnight
Have you eaten at Double Dragon? What did you think?
